File server migration planned for the new year
Posted on 18/12/09 3:51pm
This announcement only applies to users on our NZ Corporate and Business Web Hosting plans.
Our upstream providers plan to migrate from the current Linux file server to a new server the first week of January 2010
As part of the migration they need to upgrade all the machines that will use the new server, this includes the Linux Web and FTP/Cron servers. In preparation for the move, they've set up an additional cluster of web servers that are available for you to test your sites on. They have tried to ensure the servers are configured as closely as possible to the existing servers, but as the Operating System version is changing, certain scripts may be affected.
The new cluster has the following services running on the corresponding IP addresses:
PHP4 119.47.114.161
PHP5 119.47.114.162
To test your site running on the new cluster, you can change the hosts file on your computer to force the site's domain to use one of the IP addresses above. More information on changing your hosts file can be found on the following page:
http://www.loungenetwork.co.nz/faqman/index.php?op=view&t=344
If you do experience any problems with the new cluster please email us.
If you have any files on the file server that you do not need we would appreciate it if you removed them as this will assist us by making the transfer faster.
