This investment not only ensures maximum capacity, but also that everything on the linux server network is doubled up to provide redundancy. This means that in the event of a hardware failure, another system waiting idly can pick up service in seconds, reducing any potential interruption. This redundancy for web hosting is also planned to be added to the Windows servers during 2008. |

Why
is it important that my business website is
hosted on a real NZ
server network, located on a NZ datacentre?
Having
your businesses website & email hosted on
an overseas based webserver could be a major disadvantage
to
your
companies website,
especially if you intend that most of your visitors
who will be visiting it, will be based in New
Zealand. This is because currently some New Zealand
ISP's
can restrict
bandwidth
on
overseas website traffic, as it costs them more
money transmitting and receiving overseas website
traffic, than it costs to transfer and receive
local website traffic. Hosting on an overseas
server therefore could mean that your website
may load slowly, for some or many of your website visitors.
If your site is hosted with the Lounge Network,
on our New Zealand based server networks, you
won't have the
problem of your website loading slowly due to your ISP restricting overseas
bandwidth, as your website will be treated as
local website traffic.
With New Zealand based servers,
server response times are also substantially
quicker using NZ based server networks.
This results in websites and email
tending to load and download faster, due to being on
NZ based server networks.
Many New Zealand web
hosting companies, offering web hosting will
often
host their
clients
website on USA based servers. They do this as
it is often much cheaper to host websites in the USA, than

If you need hosting for a second, third or even more websites, we can setup additional separate add-on web hosting spaces for them, for just $17.78+GST per month per additional website. This may be useful if you want to host a separate isolated website under it's own domain name, or under a subdomain of your existing website.
Additional add-on websites each come with their own unmetered diskspace and traffic, and also includes their own separate website statistics. You will also be able to manage all your websites and domain names, all inside the single control panel. You will also be able to choose either Linux or Windows hosting platforms for your additional add-on websites, and you will be able to mix and match hosting platforms. For example if you have two websites, you can host both a Linux website and a Windows website all within the same control panel. Windows add-on websites, will also come with an additional 20MB MSSQL database (worth $17.78+GST per month) for no additional fee! |

High Volume website's may be switched to a US based server network, should your bandwidth usage become excessive and uneconomical for us to host. What constitutes excessive bandwidth usage is decided by our upstream providers. If your bandwidth requirements are considered too large for a shared server environment, we may contact you to arrange alternative hosting options. Please be sure to email us if you expect your website to have high traffic requirements, or if you are planning on switching a high bandwidth website to this hosting plan.
